The enchanted tree

Like a million fingers reaching up
The enchanted tree stood there for us
You ran up the hill like a little child
And stood there raising your hands up to the sky
The grey morning, the misty temple
The tree and you like brothers, stood majestic
Like the wild west boy, like a magical tree
Shouting on the top of your voice
How much you loved me
How much you wanted me
How much you waited for me
And I knew then, and now
that just like that tree
you will stand strong
for me to cling on
to eat the three fruits of that tree
which you plucked and gave me
the faith
the love
the hope
