Shedding leaves as though
they are giving up on hope
The winter trees stood gloomy
As though they were lost
In the harshness of winter
Perhaps their penance for yesteryears
To the sins of those gay summer days
But the winter trees stood tall and frozen
A wild leap of hope prevails to rise
To bloom again to be green
To be colourful and cheer ful
For birds to chirp to sing to dance
A new year a new season a new self
“This winter will pass”, the tree whispered
“Stay and dream and love and live”
” Perhaps I should indeed”, said me to the tree
